A Much Needed Run

So yesterday we got our butts back in gear and went for a run after Erica got off from work.  We were both nervous since it had been awhile since we had ran but surprisingly it wasn’t bad at all!  I think some of it had to do with the fact it was close to 70 outside and a beautiful day and a little of the fact we were both needing some girl talk…..but that doesn’t matter we still did it.  We started the couch to 5k program this past summer and completed the whole program and ran our first 5k this fall.  Neither of us care for the winter much….actually lets be honest we HATE it so we’ve slacked and quit running this winter and now its time to get back on track!! One motivation for getting back to business with this running is the fact that a run for something very dear to our hearts is coming up in April.

Its been in the works that this April there will be the very first run for EB!! This is something very close to our hearts.  Mr. Jonah was born with EB….if you wanna read his mommas blog and find out more info on EB go to http://www.patriceandmattwilliams.blogspot.com/  This is a terrible condition that causes so much pain and makes their skin as fragile as a butterflys wings.  Jonah goes to our church and his momma Patrice is one of our fellow girls night outers and if there is any motivation to get our butts running again this is it!  The details haven’t all been laid out yet but theyre looking into doing a 5k somewhere here local with the proceeds going to DEBRA.  This is so exciting!  Neither of us had ever heard of this until Jonah was born and to get the chance to be a part of something that is going to raise awareness to this is just an exciting experience.  We’ve had conversations that lately we feel like gods laid it on our hearts to get out there and stop talking about making a difference but actually doing something about it.
