Our church has been doing a series called "What If?" and we think it has been so good we wanted to share.
These past few weeks this series has really made us look at ourselves and say are we really doing what we should be as Christians? Are we reaching out to others like we should be?

They started the series with a plain white chair and asked us all to think of someone we know that God has laid on our hearts that might not attend church or know God and add their name to the chair. Last week the chair was completely covered with names. It was an amazing sight to see that chair filled with names but at the same time you couldn't help but get choked up at so many that don't know Jesus! This got us thinking there are so many people even in our own family that yeah they know we're Christians and we go to church but do we take the time that we should to just stop and talk to them about God? Even in our daily lives is God putting people in our paths for us to witness to and we're too busy to stop and take notice?
This also hit home because we both have someone special to us that aren't on the right path and you get to a point that you try and try but you can't force them to change their ways. So you somewhat "give up" trying to talk to them but is that what God would do? What if God got tired of us being stubborn and he gave up on us? We both added a name to the chair and are going to continue as we always have to pray that they will find their way back to church and get right with God.
Hope y'all have a Happy Tuesday!!
Ladies, this really touched me! I've gotten choked up about that chair as well. I actually have a few people that I am struggling with this very thing about. I mention things going on at Church, try and get them to come, try and speak to their hearts but it seems like nothing I do or say gets through and I have felt like so many times to just 'give up' as you stated. You guys know one who this applies to immensely because I got choked up about it a couple weeks ago in our home group. I'm going to pray for you two to have the strength, courage and push to keep doing what you're doing in trying to fill that empty chair and I hope you'll do the same for me. We are in this together and I'm thankful for you two! Thanks so much for blogging about this! -Hollie
ReplyDeleteI think the best thing is pray pray pray! There comes a point when you've planted that seed and that person has to make the decision on what to do with it. We know who you're talking about and we'll be praying!
